This Thanksgiving, Be Thankful You’re Not a Turkey
PETA isn’t exactly known for being subtle. This animal rights group is responsible for some of the wildest and wackiest activist ads ever, so it was a bit surprising when they released a rather tame commercial for Thanksgiving, in which a little girl recites the (admittedly gruesome) facts about factory farmed turkeys.
But it wasn’t tame enough for NBC – the network refused to run it during the Thanksgiving Day Parade.
It wouldn’t be a PETA ad without a little shock value, but for once the organization got their message across without shoving it down the throats of the unwilling public. Bravo on a job well done – and Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
